Default Sealing problem

Ok so i just receantly bought my civic and knew it needed a little tlc, around the back windows (its a coupe) there is rust like small rust holes right under the seal on the back quater pannel. I know i need to take care of it soon because where i live we get alot of snow and rain around this time of year and more still to come i just need advice on how to get a quick fix for it until i can afford to really patch it up any ideas?

Easiest way, if I'm understanding what you're talkin about, is good old silicone caulking.

not a bad temporary fix, but i would use masking tape and tape off along where you want it, then paint the silicone with some black trim paint so it looks a little better. you can find bumper and trim paint at a parts store that has a flex agent in it so it doesnt crack if the painted surface flexs.

If you're gonna paint it, then buy latex caulking, not silicone. Paint doesn't stick to silicone, but they make the latex for painting.

BTW, you can buy black silicone caulking. I've used it before when I took my kids to African Lion Safari (an animal park) and some of the monkeys got on my car and ripped a strip of rubber from the roof of my car. The black silicone caulking matched perfectly, and is still on there today (been 3 years now).
