Shift linkage or clutch?
Hey all... I have a 1990 civic SI, with 403,000 Km. I have owned the car for just over a year now, and i bought it for my daily commute to work and back home, and i have to say...what an amazing car!!! With the KMs it has and the way i drive it (like its stolen, patches in 3rd) and the oil it burns (quart every week or two) just an all around great car!!! Untill the other day, leaving work.... i was in a hurray to get home to the Fam, and i let go of the clutch quick, and it span the tires for a sec....then just stalled out. So here is what its doing now..... Press the clutch to the floor, start the car...STARTS. note, shifter is in "NEUTRAL" position....let up on clutch pedal, car begins to go, again note shifter is still in "NEUTRAL" position. Im not a mechanic, but i know enough to figure out that the clutch is still engaging and disingaging from what i just said! Even when i press the clutch in and shift to reverse, and get the normal crunch sound...then release clutch, it drives forward?>?>? Can anyone tell me whats wrong, and what something like that would cost to fix? thanks all, any information greatly appreciated!!
