dont know if u knwo what a mini cooper is in the us as i thnk they're very rare out there i have a rover 1992 mini cooper in british racing green but the gearbox has recently died twice! lol so this would be a great deal just want some views on the auto drive?
DONT BUY AN AUTO! Well I wouldnt, not in a civic anyway. there fine if you just use it on the motorway, but if you actually want a car that you can drive go manual. Plus auto's are slower so thats definately a no no for me.
I would go with the auto Civic. I just sold an auto that was way faster than my manual Civic. Autos are less stressful when driving in heavy traffic...and if you want a faster Civic, you could always do an engine swap down the line.
to all of you with a manual fixation.manuals are faster at initial start, but an automatic has a steady gain across the entire power band.some of the top racecar drivers in the u.s. have automatic trannies.if you want to look cool and feel like a hotshoe streetracer then get a manual, just beware that there are some automatics out there that can still smoke you.i.e, the integra gsr/chevy impala/corvette,ford lightning, to name a few.so ultimately the choice is yours but remember there is an aftermarket(performance )for automatics as well

But,
I concur on the heavy traffic.. i bought a auto neon for driving when i have my son and have to make the 115 mile trip to philly twice a month.. ever try driving in bumper to bumper traffic going 5 miles an hour and stopping constantly for over 20 miles.. manual will suck for this... so depends on whether you want the civic for daily driver.. or a toy. If you expect to get the fastest possible time on a track/street off the line in a 1/4 mile you wont do it in an Auto!
my car is an auto... and i hate it... i am goign to do a manual swap as soon as the wallet allows it. and as for the bumper to bumper traffic driving, i have one word of advice... GET OFF THAT ROAD!!... that is why there are back roads, so you can avoid the main popular roads as much as possible and get to places quicker and with less hassle during rush hour... just my 2 cents
