well now that ive got the ef running i want to get it smogged before the turbo goes on or else i obviously wont be able to pass living in cali. ive never gone to get one of my cars smogged so if some one could just sum up whats going to happen what theyll check ect. keeping in mind i have a 90 with a 96 motor and a 90 ecu. thanks for the help... also o2 sensor wire got riped off will this cause me to fail? also any tricks you know of to pass smog
Smog place won't even test if you have cel.
Smog varies a little on the area you live, becuase of heard that some places in south cali smog you car on the dyno[&:], I'm guessing that only rich area parts.
But all cali smog test consist of a visual test (making sure there is nothing illegal) an ecu test and the sniffer test
I'm pretty sure they are going to give you crap about swapping the motor because the motor it's obdII and your ecu it's OBD0?

Yeah..you might have to get your car bared unless you go to a shady place and they just dont know or you pay them off.
I had to test mine on the dino, they didn't hook anything up to my ecu. i had a visual test and a sniffer test. they checked my gas cap too.

do the conversion to obd1 and make sure all of the wiring and emissions stuff is hooked up right, then tell them its a 95 motor, or you dont really stand a chance. and yeah, unless its an illegal smog, youll have to get it Referee'd/BARed. and if you get pulle dover with an illegal motor, the cops will send you to the referee anyway, and fine you.
