smoke in coolant reservoir...
 

About a month back I saw some white smoke come out of the exhaust pipe when I floored it. I thought it might have just not been warm enough so wasn't too concerned. Then I noticed that I lose a little coolant sometimes. It's such a small amount that I can only tell the difference if I wait about a week to 10 days to check. Anyway, today I went to check the coolant after I had driven a little and noticed smoke in the coolant reservoir. That's a cracked head gasket, right? Since that one day about a month back I haven't seen white smoke from the exhaust; but I slowly lose coolant and now I saw smoke in the reservoir. How bad is it to drive my car?

i wouldnt drive it. head gasket is only like 30 bucks, and takes me about 1 hour to change, maybey a newbie a little longer. it would be wise to change it, its very very easy to do. if you need help or steps just come back here. better to spend 30 bucks then 300+ bucks...lol

By what I've described (especially the smoke in the reservoir) can someone confirm it's the head gasket?

I wouldn't think so, white "smoke" sounds like coolant vapor to me?
if there's OIL in your coolant, you have a problem....

so white smoke in my coolant isn't bad?? what about the slowly loosing coolant?? Can anyone help me diagnose this problem?

you want to know for sure, do a compression test on your car, have you looked on your dip stick, or looked inside you radiator, whats it look like. what color is the fluid in the overflow?But it still sounds like a leaky head gasket

I haven't been able to check the fluid in the radiator because I've been driving a lot and it's been too hot. The fluid in the overflowis the same it's always been (a bluish green).

And the oil isbrown. It looks normal to me.
