Smoke on deceleration

Hi guys, new forum member here. Not a performance builder just a builder for reliable daily driver. I have the 92 DX manual with 407000 miles. I have just burnt another exhaust valve. I replaced the head with a reman one that has been sitting around for a few years. I am having smoke out the back when I decelerate than get back into it. Smokes for only a second or two and only on decel. Just failed the emissions test. I think the valve seals are bad from sitting around. I get 36 mpg and no CEL just wondering if anyone had any other ideas. Usually the valve seals leaking would smoke under acceleration. Thanks in advance. Great info on here!
