Does it have gas? they could've jacked yur fuel...

DaOne 03-25-2010 08:27 PM

^^ i dont think having an empty gas tank makes your lights not work tho.

Yeah check Under the stering colummn for cut wires?
how did you check your fuses?

90civic...idk 03-27-2010 06:39 AM

alright so yeah i checked again and it wuz a cut wire and a burnt fuse...

but i think something got messed up
cuz out of no where the car redlines a lil above 3500 and the engine light comes on
if i turn off and turn on again it goes away somethimes

Check the code. On OBD0 it is read by observing the blinking LED on the ECU itself.

I think most chips still work like stock OBD1 where you read codes with the jumper and watch the CEL method.

im sorry man i dont mean to sound ignorant but idk watch u mean..
only thing i can say is that the ecu has no bulb on it
but wat u mean "the jumper"

On an OBD1 Civic, there is no light on the ECU. There is a two wire test plug attached to the harness above the ECU. Normally the plug is not connected to anything. Using a piece of wire to jumper the two pins of the plug and turning the key on sets the ECU into test mode. The trouble codes will then appear as a series of blinks of the check engine light on the dash. See the link in RonJ's signature for more details.
