Default Speedo Not Working

Hey guys, My speedo isnt working. Where is the speed sensor in the tranny? If its pluged up, what else can i check?

The sensor is called your VVS.
I don't know much about it. My car is mechanical. But that might help you on your way.

its to the left of the intake manifold on the trans in the back, you can see it just below the throttle body.

I thought that was it. It is plugged up. Somehow during the motor swap something didnt get plugged up right.

The check engine light isnt on, and yes it works, because everytime you go past the stock lev limiter it comes on. THen when you turn the car off it resets. There is another light that is on that some ricer painted over with some paint instead of fixing whatever it is.
What would the case be then?

The next time the CEL turns on, don't turn off the engine and then jump the service connector to pull the code.

Does the odometer roll up miles like it should?

Sounds like the problem is in the cluster since CEL doesn't come on from regular driving. The VSS code typically happens when rolling downhill in gear without pressing the gas.

They odometer does work along with the tach and every other gauge. Just not the speedo...
