Okay! I just checked. The odometer and tripmeter DO NOT work when the speedometer doesn't work. So does that mean I need a new VSS?

Paul C, in the end you were right. The OP should check the VSS and the wire between the VSS and gauge assembly.

Does the CEL work?

The problem could be the with the VSS or its wiring. Do you know how to use a multimeter or are you interested in learning? If not, you could try to replace the VSS and hope that it's not the wiring.

I am all up for learning! That's why I joined this forum instead of going to a macanic. So yeah I'm interested but the thing is that I'm not good at all with cars. So what should I do? And please don't use big words =]

You can tell if it works when you put the key in and turn it to position 1. The CEL should come on for a couple of seconds then go off again.

Precisely, except the key must be turned to ON(II) not ON(I).
