Default SPEEDOMETER - I erred in my post yesterday... 0MPH

Hi all who replied - thank you - but I found out last night when my sweetie (who takes care of my care) told me I'd entered that I have an 85 Honda Civic... sorry, I have a 1995 Honda Civic - problem: Speedometer (and odometer) will not work. Just stays on 0. Kicks in a LITTLE once in a while, but then back to 0mpg.
Help?
Thanks all, BronxKitty

Starting in 1992, they went to an electronic system instead of a mechanical cable. There is a sensor on the back of the transmission. Check that the wiring plug on the sensor is secure. Usually if there is no signal from the sensor the check engine light will come on, because the engine computer also uses this signal.
