Do you have code 17 for the VSS circuit?

churritos567 Feb 1, 2010 05:52 PM

everyother day it comes on but when i try to pull the CODE with the key on it doesnt say anything. i also a couple weeks ago tested the wiring on it and found 11.49v on one of the wires on the plug is that normal?

churritos567 Feb 2, 2010 09:00 PM

the code does not come one anymore so it isnt the circuit i got a brand new vss and i did tthe diagnostic test on the vss plug and its at the spec. could it be the gauge cluster?

yes it could be the gage cluster,
for me it was.

The 3 wires on the VSS are ignition power (battery voltage), ground, and output. If you don't get a CEL though you were driving half an hour with no speed indicated, the VSS is probably OK and the problem is the cluster.
