Default Squeak Noise

Ok so this all happened after I installed S-Techs. Now I didn't change struts or LCA's, but now when I brake or the car hits a bump the car mostly the front squeaks. I always thought maybe it was my struts because of putting different springs on, but a friend and my dad said they think it's something else. Any Idea?

It's probably a bushing somewhere unless you shocks are starting to go bad. Did you put grease on the top hat bushings when installing the suspension? Did you also pre-load the suspension when you tightened everything down? If not, the front lower control arm shock bushings can bind a bit.

Ya that's what both people told me was probably from front end bushings. Hmm price range and recommendations on which to get for replacements.

You probably don't need to replace your bushings just yet. With a '99 Civic, I really doubt it unless you have a ton of miles(like 250k+ lol) on your car. I'd suggest getting some silicone grease and spray the tophat bushings and the LCA bushings. If you didn't pre-load the suspension, I'd suggest doing that too. Just jack up the car enough to loosen(not remove) the damper fork-to-lca bolts, drop the car back down, then reach under and tq the bolt.

It's more a tedious job than hard, but it depends on the tools you have and how much experience you have getting you hands dirty. If you're looking to replace the bushings, the Energy Suspension bushings are good for the money and easy to install. Even then, make sure they are lubricated to prevent squeaking and pre-mature wear/tear.

Here is a DIY reaper wrote up for doing the front bushings with Energy Suspension. I used it to do my front bushings and didn't have any issues.

Question

I have a 07 Civic EX and I travel aprox 100 miles a day on pretty bad highways, everytime I hit a sharp dip in the road or coming off a curb I here a loud squeak noise in the front end. It only does it when the struts travel quit a bit, I keep thinking its the struts but not sure.
