srs light?

sometimes, not always, the srs light will stay on when i'm driving. i drive a 96 civic dx hatchback but i don't have the manual for the car. if you have the manual for the car, can you tell me what the light indicates. can i check and fix it myself, or do i have to bring it in to the honda dealer>

SRS means secondary restraint system. It's your airbag.

Take it to a dealer....there is not much you can do on your end. And I believe SRS means Supplemental Restraint System. ;)

RE: srs light?

I have the same problem with my 2002 Honda Civic EX. It came on after I changed my battery over a year ago. Also my ABS light has been on pretty much since I bought it. Oh and did I mention my malfunction light always comes on after I get gas! I passed emissions with it on so apparently it is just the computer. I have read that 02 Civics have these problems. My car lights up like a god damn christmas tree at night.

I also have a 2002 civic ex, and my SRS light is on constantly as well. Right before i bought it, the previous owner had the same problem, and it ended up being a seatbelt sensor of some sort. They did fix it under warrant though.
