Stabilizer and bushings
 

Just had stabilizers and bushings replaced on 2010 civic....banging noise still there over bumpy roads...now they say front struts are the issue and quoting $1350 to replace same....$ sounds outrageous and this is at a dealer. Any feedback on pricing.....

go some place else.second opinions are a must these days.Too many flat-rate mechanics(techs).
If you do need struts,a non dealer shop can get you better units with a lifetime warranty for a few hundred dollars less.
Quick struts from someone like Monroe is the best choice because they come with everything as a unit.The dealer will end up charging you more for the upper mounts and adjusters.
Most quick struts are sold as pairs for under $500.00.

i wouldn't recommend monroe just because they have a lifetime warranty doesn't mean they won't charge you for work when they blow a year later. look into KONI or Tokico struts. also of course the dealer is a rip off thats what dealers do.

Wow, went to CTC to get a quote.....1/2 the price of the dealer. Going to take it to my Mazda dealer who has been taking care of my mint 2005 Mazda 3 for 10 years and see what they think of the issue. CTC service advisor was amazed that the struts had an issue....and frankly so am I. No apparent issue with rebound but one of them is noisy.

Well thats interesting....noise has gone away after a couple of days of drving around town...did stabilizer kits have to seat in? there is no front end noise at all and I'm fine with that.

yeah the dealer will always come up with new problems with your car thats what the service advisors are actually trained to do. not all of them are bad but 90% of them are. yes bushings on the stabilizer due have to wear in but the service advisors won't tell you that they need more sales otherwise there obsolete.
