Default no heat at idle in 2003 civic

car only blows cold air while in idle, above 2000 rpms, heat is normal. Checked the coolant level and it is normal. Engine temp gauge is normal. Thanks in advance for any help....

Did you check the level in the radiator itself? It can be "normal" in the white plastic tank but actually low in the radiator and engine where it matters.

If it's not that, you may have a partly blocked heater core, flushing it out could help.

Keep an eye on it. The radiator cap controls the flow in and out of the reservoir, try a new one if it happens again. Ordinarily the radiator should be full to the top when you open the cap (only with the engine COLD of course).
