Starts fine- hesitates very bad and looses all power then comes right out of it
I am at the end of my rope here and I hope somebody has something for me to try.
00 EX D16y8, 5 speed 101k
On startup it idles fine, a little high, and then within 30 yards of taking off it starts hesitating horribly bad then looses all power. It literally feels as if it has died as you push on the gas more and more and it goes slower and slower then suddenly as the throttle is nearly on the floor something snaps and it comes out of it and throws your head back. it does it on every startup, hot or cold- even if I just shut it off and start it right back up.
It has been doing this for over a year now and has not thrown a code yet. I took it to Honda and they said they couldnt replicate the problem, which is crap- they scanned it for codes and saw nothing and sent me on my way without driving it.
What have I tried?
Plugs
Wires
Cap
Button
Ignition module
Coil
Fuel Filter
Crank Sensor
O2 sensor
Throttle position sensor
(New Map sensor is on the way, which is officially the end of my rope)
Timing is dead on
Fuel pressure is steady (if you leave it sitting at an idle long enough it will start shuddering and come out of it as if you were driving it and the pressure never changes)
Please help, or please come and buy/steal it so I dont have to lose anymore sleep.
Cheers,
Wookie

This is clearly a difficult problem. Aside from the problem described above, does the engine have any other performance, oil or coolant loss, or mileage issues that might focus your troubleshooting?
Have you checked whether the fuel pressure regulator is working properly?
Have you tried a Seafoam treatment to remove possible carbon deposits?
Is the air cleaner or air intake clogged in any way?
Have you inspected the throttle cable adjustment and the throttle body?

it has always had some hesitation above what I consider customary, as if the AC was on all the time. Other than that it is solid
Have you checked whether the fuel pressure regulator is working properly?
yes, within spec- barely.
Have you tried a Seafoam treatment to remove possible carbon deposits?
no but that sounds fun
Is the air cleaner or air intake clogged in any way?
Brand new filter and the intake is clear
Have you inspected the throttle cable adjustment and the throttle body?
No, but I have cleaned the IACV. It runs well all of the time except during its fit, so I wouldnt suspect that.
You have me thinking of replacing the fuel pressure regulator- my gauge is on the filter so it wouldn't give me an accurate portrait of rail pressure.
