RE: Stock 98 Civic EX, performance problems
hey sacicons.. u mentioned getting the haynes manual. I have this one too but do you have the chilton manual? Just wondering which one is better.

RE: Stock 98 Civic EX, performance problems
Sacicons:
The only fuse box under the hood I found does not have a "ECU" or "ECM" fuse that I see. The 2 fuses I do see that I wonder about are "FI E/M" and "IG 1". I could disconnect the battery and be done with it, but then I'd have to reset my radio, etc. Is it safe to pull the fuses with the battery still connected? |

RE: Stock 98 Civic EX, performance problems
its the FI E/M one, and yeah, its fine to pull it when power is on.

RE: Stock 98 Civic EX, performance problems
Sacicons: Well, I pulled it like you said, and for the few minutes test drive afterwards, it appears to be running smoothly. It also seems to be a little more peppy. Hopefully it'll stay that way.
Thank you much. |
RE: Stock 98 Civic EX, performance problems
Well, it's been a few days, and I have to say that it looks like it worked! Well, mostly. The frequency of jerkyness at this point has dropped significantly. Just thought I'd give you an update, and thanks for the info!
