Stuttering engine after Blue Devil?

Hi,

I have a 1995 Civic DX was told I had a bad head gasket. I heard about the blue devil stuff so I tried it out to save myself the $500 pain in the butt of replacing the gasket.

The original symptom was the car overheated after being on the freeway for an hour or so. Since using the Blue Devil stuff it hasn't overheated at all. I am wondering if it might have messed with my fuel injectors or something that is causing it to run rough?

Ideas?

Get that junk out of your engine asap. There is no miracle in a bottle that will fix a blown gasket, or leaking whatever.

Letting us know where you added this blue devil stuff would help us diagnose a possible problem.

Just added it to the radiator and followed the directions to run it for 50 minutes in idle.

Oh dear god... prepare to replace your water pump and every rubber hose in your cooling system, likely the radiator too.

This issue would have nothing to do with your injectors IMO. Mainly for the fact that you pour the blue devil stuff into the coolant. Injectors do not see coolant ever.

This stuff clogs up holes in gaskets? What is stopping it from blocking up small passageways within the cooling system?

Are you seeing any CELs which could be related to the stumbling?

Nope. There is no check engine light. Other than stuttering a bit ( which you can hear from the muffler and feel a little bit,) the car is running fine. Hasn't gotten near overheating or had any other visible problems.

I thought that if the head gasket was cracked leading to leakage into the block, that it was plausible that some of the blue devil stuff ( which was in the coolant ) got into one of the cylinders and gummed up an injector or spark plug.
