Default swapping into a coupe vs hatchback

well..tried this in the swap section got 1 reply in weeks and it was attached to an offer to sell me something so here goes:

i have a 98 civic coupe w/73k on it that i purchased for less then 3500. the car needed a new bumper cover and airbags but mechanically runs perfectly. i am thinking of doing a swap but wanted to pick your brains on the differences i would see with a swap in this coupe vs a hatchback. i am looking to do a b18c swap. would there really be that much of a difference in speed?

thanks in advance
meek

Are you talking about the work load, parts, or ending results as far as how fast it is?

Well a hatch vs a coupe of the same generation will yeild allmost the same results. The hatch will be slightly faster because it weighs less but other than that it is pure preference as far as body style goes.

thanks bro..exactly the answer i was looking for. it just seems like the hatches command a much larger premium because of the swap ability. the difference in the 1/4 can't be that great. how much more does a stock hatch weigh then a coupe?

a hatch on average weighs around 150 to 200lbs less than a coupe
