symptoms of bad engine compression??
hi,
what are the symptoms of bad engine compression?
I did a search on google but the most answers i got were "loss of power" which seems a little vague. does this mean i would have poor fuel economy? I also heard that you would have rough/slow hot starts. does this mean that if you had the car warmed up and turned it off and tried to start it that it would be hard to start?

The first symptom of worn out rings is usually oil consumption (more than 1 quart per 1000 miles) and blue smoke from the tailpipe, with more smoke when you floor it. Severe cases would be hard to start and not idle well.
