Default Tail light help

Hey all, first time posting here. I have a 1999 civic si that my wife uses to drive to work everyday. When we bought the car it had all clear LED tail lights which we continuously got pulled over for having. I finally decided to get rid of them and bought some OEM ones that are just like the stock tail lights. Whenever the right or left turn signal is on and the brake is pressed, the signals stay lit and do not blink until the brake is depressed. The turn signal arrows in the dash also come on and stay lit while the brake is pressed. I checked some of the wires and found a broken green and white wire that was spliced into a black copper wire which was grounded in front of the left headlight. I fixed the wire and now the running lights wont come on, even with this wire being disconnected as it was when i found it, they still wont come on. Any help would be much appreciated as im tired of getting pulled over in this car, can also post pics if anyone out there can help. Thanks.

It sounds like they had wired a different relay to work with the LEDS or something.
just trying to give some ideas out there.

Thanks for the reply. the wiring harnesses that came with the new tail lights were completely identical to the ones that were used with the old ones, im not even sure if they are LED's to be honest, only reason i think they are is because they both had a red and green wire that were hooked up to nothing. the old lights have 3 bulbs a piece and the new ones have 4, not sure if this makes a difference, i don't know a whole lot when it comes to electrical components in cars.

Interaction between the turn signals and other lights is usually a grounding problem. The outer shells of the bulbs need to be grounded. Also check that the tail light fuse is not blown.
