Angry Passenger Side HID Headling Problem

Hi everyone -

I ned a little help, because I am stumped and so is my mechanic. I have a 2008 Civic EX 2DR, and have had Xentec ballasts and bulbs installed since about 2009 with zero problems. About 2 months ago, I turned on my headlights and the passenger side bulb came on, but then flickered and went out. I looked at the bulb and it looked like maybe it was at the end of its life so I replaced both bulbs.

After replacing them, they stayed on, but the passenger side bulb was an odd blue color, and while on, you could see that the bulb was flickering. So, I promptly ordered a new set of ballasts. I replaced the ballasts, and no luck - the same problem.

I had my mechanic come up and he can't see anything wrong with the wiring, and the voltage was testing at 11.5 volts (off of battery power) on both headlights.

I'm stumped - anyone came across an issue like this before?

Thanks, Mark

It's possible that a faulty ballast wrecked your new bulb in the short time it was in use with it.

The obvious thing to try would be to swap the bulbs left for right and see if you have a bad bulb.
