Default Tranny swap... now won't start. help!

I just finished putting in a different tranny in my car because my old one was shot.

Also, I did a rear disc conversion.

Now the car cranks but won't turn over. I am thinking it is related to something I did when swapping the tranny but can't find a single problem. Everything appears to be plugged back in and no fuses are blown.

Any ideas?

If everything looks good like you say, I would suggest checking the basic 3 principles of combustion: air/compression, fuel, and spark. All must, at very least, be present for the car to start, so it is essentially the best starting point. You seem mechanically capable and knowledgeable enough to test these. If you need specifics, I can certainly give them.

One thing I have never tested for is spark and that is my best guess right now since I hear the fuel pump priming and did nothing to affect the injectors or compression.

So how do you test for spark?

ok i checked for spark and i have that. I still think it is related to something I did.

Right now the clutch pedal doesn't feel right. TOO EASY! I have bled the slave cylinder twice.

put the crank pulley on the timing mark and make sure that the rotor is on the number 1 (plug) electrode.

^ yeah could be possible you offset the timing enough to cause problems.

My question becomes what could I have done with a tranny swap to affect timing?

If you moved the crank pulley in the opposite direction of normal rotation you possibly could have jumped the timing belt.

nope... definitely didn't move the crank at all, aside from the fact there would have been no reason to.

But I DO APPRECIATE everyones input. I think I am calling AAA in the morning and having it towed to the dealer. I have had it at this point.

But keep it coming, I will try things as they come.

many times things happen that are unrelated.
it's not voodoo - it's just co-incidential.
