Default Under engine shield....

I was driving on the freeway and all of a sudden I hear this grinding sound. I pull over and check to see if a tire went down.... instead under the car I see that the "dirt shield" ( I guess thats what its called) was dragging. I drove a couple miles... with it grinding, and when I got home I took it off. My question is: Can I leave the shield off, or do I need it? I mean its just a thin slice of plastic.

First off, its called a splash guard. If you can I would put it back on. It is there to keep water from splashing up onto the top of the motor, hence the name. LOL But yeah, if you can put it back on.

One trick I used on my old Accord was where the slash guard broke at the screw holes, just put a big washer over the screw and screw it back in. The washer will cover over the break and hold it on. PM me if you have and questions.

Well it ripped into many pieces! I would need a new one, any ideas where I could get onE? Oh and while taking the "shield" off the wheel well inner shield also started to loosen and rip. Basically I need all that plastic stuff to protect the bottom. Any ideas where to buy?and how much it would cost?

I have seen them online for about $20. They are really cheap. I will look around and see if I can find one.
