Default Urgent ABS Brake help needed 2000 civic ex

Hello,

I need some advice on my daughters front brakes. She has a 2000 Civic EX. 2 Weeks ago I replaced both front calipers, as the driverside one was siezed. Today she calls me...and says the front is locked up again???? What could be causing this? I installed new calipers and bled them and tested the car working fine, she has drove it for 2 weeks and now it seems the front calipers or (caliper) is siezing up again. Have not had the chance to see the car...she lives 45mins away. She says the fluid level is ok, but the brake pedal is hard to push??? Could this be an ABS issue? She says the ABS light goes off ok when the car is started. What I would like to do is pull the ABS fuse. But I have no diagram and she checked under the hood for the fuse, but says the fusebox does not list an ABS fuse?? Any ideas as to what the problem could be? or where to locate the fuse? Checked under the dash as well...my book says its in the engine compartment fuse block...but we cant find it.

Thanks.

The problem sounds like a bad brake booster. Check that the vacuum hose is still connected to the booster and intake manifold and that it is not leaking. Also test that the check valve is working properly.

How can I test the checkvalve? Would the booster or the checkvalve cause the caliper to stay locked on the disc? Where would the fuse be to disable the abs? I want to give that a try as well..maybe one of the sensors is stuck and applying brake to one of the wheels? I dont know...just a thought?

My comments were based on the hard to push brake pedal and the fact that you had not yet been able to inspect the car yourself. So with the limited available information (i.e., the brakes possibly are not locked up), I speculated that the brake booster might be bad.

Fuse 16 protects the circuit for the ABS pump motor.
