urgent help needed...washed engine bay

urgent help needed...washed engine bay
i was being stupid and washed the engine bay
without covering intake, distributor, plug wires....
now when i start the car....its shaking bad
when i hit on gas.....but once the rpm go over 4000
the car starts to act as normal.....
wat did i *** up?
is it 'cause of moisture got into distributor?
i have removed the intake...there were some water in it
cleaned it, but havent put it back yet.....
plz help....wat can i do to make things back to normal

i am pretty sure you got some water ( moisture) inside the distr cap .remove cap, if you got access to compressed air blow it out , if not dry it out , put together and test drive car

ok so finally got things back to normal...
i checked distb cap and it was dry
so i dunno...where the water went
but i let the engine run for atleast 40 mins or
n car started to act normal again
although car kinda hesitates when in third gear
may be needs more dryin time...well hope so
other then that....everything is back to normal
