is there a free website to check for vin numbers on cars that may have been in a accident or any info on a car. i would like to check bc i just bought a 98 civic and everything looked stock. well i took it up to the dealership and a guy who paints car told me my right fender was painted same with my pass.side door WTF!!!!!!!!!! did not see any blemishes or anything.

people can repaint and replace parts without having to report it as an accient to anyone.
just so you know. so carfax and all those accident reports aren't always that reliable

 

i can run a carfax for you, but like Macbeth said, they aren't ALWAYS reliable. All someone has to do is not claim it on insurance. Of course that means there shouldn't be any major damage that was very expensive to replace.

 

Either that, or the person wasm or knewm someone that was seriously handy in the shop
so he could have it repaired and looking just like new with out having to report it to anyone.

 

If you didn't notice anything it's been repaired pretty well, and a fender and door isn't going to affect the structure of the car. A lot of used cars on the market have taken some fender damage during their life. It really doesn't affect the value much unless it's considered a unique or collectible car.
