I can't believe they want to charge $150. Is that $90 bucks to stare at the car for 50 mins and then change the gasket in 10? Or are they including the diagnosis in the cost?

Lol, yeah....they already did the Diagnosis during the inspection that I had (free by the way), so they made recommendations and thats what they estimated including the part and labor. So there you have it.

They also priced out Shock/struts @ $2300, oh thats stock all the way and also replacing the bushings that are involved in that as well.

Fun times at the dealership.

geez, you can buy a set of KYB GR2's (OEM equivalent, good brand) for less than 300 total on ebay and if you're mechanically inclined and have never done it before you can do the job in 8 hours... and it comes with the shock bushings

goodness, my car is not even worth that much. they need a lesson or two on economics, you know, supply and demand... Apparently they think they are Ma Bell or something, a true monopoly.

right on. I was lookin at gettin those one's. As of now, my Civic is just lowered on Megan Springs. but I'm not really a fan of them. So I originally asked what would be neccessary to bring the car back to stock height, and they made the "recommendation" to replace the entire strut/Shock system with bushings. They also said that all they really needed to do was put stock springs back in, but then the rest would eventually go out anyway. But either way its all good.

How many miles are on your Civic? They may just be trying to rip you off in a way.
