Default VTECH won't engage

I have a 94 civic with a b18C engine swap. Now sometimes the Vtech engages and sometimes it doesn't kick in at all. I have high enough oil pressure to power the Vtech so I am at a lost to what it could be. Any ideas??? Thanks

You're life has officially ended and this thread should mount its defenses for an onslaught of bashings.

It doesn't, it's just that these Vtec heads have made such a point of making clear that it's "VTEC" not "VTECH" that they somewhat lose it when a newbs comes along and spells it that way. To them, you might as well be spelling Honda, Honduh. To be clear, I was just giving you a heads up on what to expect. Anwyays, good luck on figuring things out.

check your oil LEVEL. if its too low, it will kill the vtec function. and can even lower the rev limiter, yet another way our cars are smarter than we are.

As for me, I'm not even going to say anything. What was originally meant to be nothing more than a bit of harmless humor has turned into a s**tstorm of sarcasm and whining... I'm just trying to be educational, but now I'll just leave you to your mistakes.
