I would use OEM Honda trans fluid thats what I used when I did it. I wouldn't use engine oil for the transmission. You just jack the car up take off the drain bolt with an extention bar and breaker bar. Use a hose line or any kind of tube that will fit inside the filler hole and will reach to the engine bay. I think it just needs a couple quarts, you'll tell when it's full once some fluid starts dripping out of the filler hole. It's also recommended to drop the car down and finish adding a little more fluid in.

are you asking to about the transmission fluid or the motor oil? trans. fluid i would go with oem from honda. if it is motor oil then it is 10-30

I remember using 10w30 motor oil for my 1996 integra's 5 speed. What oil to use & is it the same procedures on the Civic's tranny?
