I remember using 10w30 motor oil for my 1996 integra's 5 speed. What oil to use & is it the same procedures on the Civic's tranny?

I would use OEM Honda trans fluid thats what I used when I did it. I wouldn't use engine oil for the transmission. You just jack the car up take off the drain bolt with an extention bar and breaker bar. Use a hose line or any kind of tube that will fit inside the filler hole and will reach to the engine bay. I think it just needs a couple quarts, you'll tell when it's full once some fluid starts dripping out of the filler hole. It's also recommended to drop the car down and finish adding a little more fluid in.

Use only Honda manual transmission fluid as almost anything else can destroy certain seals in the transmission.

For a manual transmission, replacing the gear oil only needs to be done about every 120k miles or so. The stuff lasts forever!
