Default We have a van in our family...

it's uh 96 Plymouth Grand voyager, V6 3.3L
the car won't start without jump starting it, maybe something wrong with the circuit..
check engine light on, wow.
but the thing is, the car is really bad.
when I push on the accelerator pedal, it revvs the engine and takes a while until it actually engages and the car moves. any cause or reason for this? might be similar with civic...

I'm gonna try replacing sparkplugs, which will be pain in the ***, because there's freaking back plugs I have to deal with, oil change...I dunno, but any knowledge would be a great help.
Thanks.

if you rev the engine for a while before the car moves, thats probably the tranny. Check to make sure the fluid is full. As for the starting problem, its prob a bat battery or weak connection at the terimials (battery or starter) thats all I can think of off the top of my head

sounds like your battery is dead or you have a bad alternator.

Honestly, read up on some reviews on this van. Go to www.carsurvey.org. Not many good reviews on the plymouth voyager/dodge caravan. As to the moving prob, it is your transmission. Dodges and Plymouths are NOTORIOUS for their auto trannys going out...I had 3 dodges and they all went on me, so thats why I'll never own another again. As to the jumping, either ur alternator is getting ready to go or the battery could be bad. If I were you, I would honestly consider getting rid of it and getting into something more better made...you will honestly put more money into this car than its worth. For all the dodge lovers out there, I dont mean to knock bad on this company but Ive seen and owned too many chrysler products to know whats going on and the common probs they have. Also, any questions could be answered here...this site really scared me at the time I first saw it!! www.daimlerchryslervehicleproblems.com

we just swapped a new tranny in there 2 years ago, it worked fine for a while, then started doing the same thing again. Before we had the same problem, swapping tranny got rid of the problem. It costed freakin $4000 to do all that ****, this time seriously, we don't wanna waste any more money into this car.[:@]
