Default weird problem with clutch since yesterday

as iwas leaving to work i put my foot on the clutch, pushed it down and tried to go into 1st and it did not let me, so i tried it again and it let me, so then i hit the gas and let go off the clutch and my car stalled out, i was surprised by this so i restarted it and i was able to drive but my clutch was feeling extremerly weird, i would push down and it would feel dead, like no pressure as if i hadn o clutch, the engagement point was so low to the floor than usual, then as i drived the clutch felt progressively better and after 5-10 min of driving it was fine.... anybody have any indication what this can be

Check the clutch fluid level. You have air in the hydraulic system likely due to a leak, which is generally caused by a faulty clutch master cylinder (where you add brake fluid) or slave cylinder (attached to the clutch housing). Replace the leaking component and then bleed all air out of the hydraulic system -- the bleeder plug is part of the slave cylinder.

dito... sounds like a leak somewhere and low on fluid. i found out last week my clutch master cylinder is leaking inside the car but right now im to lazy im just gonna keep adding fluid until i can or feel like buying a new one. i priced OEM one but dealership wanted 140bucks for one OUCH. but still have yet to price one at napa autoparts.

if ya look under the dash follow the clutch pedal and if ya see any fluid up their, than its leaking.
if so just temporarily fill up the fluid again and bleed the system really quick.

but if you dont see any leaks on the master cylinder in or outside of the car and the slave cylinder is also dry then i would probably replace the clutches rubber/hydrolic hose. it could have collapsed or be swelling under pressure.

wait something doesnt make sense, if i am low and fluid and its leaking, why does the clutch feel progressively better after a few minutes of driving

I'm not sure what year Civic you have? The procedure for bleeding the clutch hydraulic system of a 96-00 Civic is shown in the picture.

I can only speculate on your reasonable question. My theory is that you have a leak that occasionally allows air to enter the system. Repeated depression of the clutch forces the air back out of the system, giving the impression that the system is fine. It would behoove you to find the leaking component and replace now before the clutch hydraulic system completely fails.

Don't worry, replacing either the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder is pretty straightforward.

ya its preaty easy to swap either of the parts out. just check if the fluid is low first. if its not low then i think the master cylinder still might need to be replaced.

i know with master brake cylinders sometimes when they start to go bad they are weak at first and then they pump up fine.
