Im looking for simple things to bring my HP to around 160. I have an 07 civic LX with 140HP right now. I want it close to 160 for now. Ive been reading alot about air filters and air intakes, exhaust, etc. I heard about the K & N air filter how it adds 10 HP then how it doesnt help at all so I dont know exactly whats true or not. I dont know how to install an exhaust.. I live in Washington state where its raining during the summer soa CAI I dont think would be a good idea.

So what actually works and doesnt work?I cant overhaul the whole thing since its a brand new car.

 

than get an short ram intake than. the 1st thing to do is et the intake than ur better off getting some 4-2-1 Header next why? becasue if u get an ful catback sysytem ur factory header is still goin to be restricting air which will restrict some horsepower. so if u get the header ur car will be breathing much better which will prepare u for the full cat back system.
also u dont really need to knowhow to install exhuast sytem. question iscan u can take something apart and put it back together. becasue tht basically it. ( despite some little complication tht might occur)

ur best bet is to get one or 2 of ur friend to help u, it will be much easier, and 6 hands and 3 brains is much better than 2 hands and 1 brain.

really a nub question but w/e. intake, full exhaust, msd blaster coil and bad *** plugs and wires u should be over 160.

 

Im not surei/h/e and a blaster coil and wiresare gonna shoot the hp up 20+ horses. more like 10-15.

 

as far as simple things as he said thats all the simple things u can do he is shottin for 20 horses. that should do it.

 

Plugs and wires don't create power in themselves, so those aren't modifications.

I/H/E/intake manifold, ported tb, cams, and for good measure. 50 shot of nitrous.

 

Stock Ignition is fine, and will work into the 5 digit RPM range. The rest of the engine, however, may not handle that kind of revving because of vibration, hence the rev limiter.

Short RAM Intake, Header, and Exhaust will do.

Do you have to pass a yearly emissions test? This is where they get you.

If you don't, like me, just make sure you have a HIGH FLOW CAT behind that header. The aftermarket header allows greater flow but will mess up backpressure because of the stock cat. Your best bet is a full exhaust.

 

5 digit rpm? 5000 RPM? Cause Ive taken it up to 6000. redline is 6800. I heard short ram intakes take in hot air. What are the side effects of a shortram intake? Nooby question but where are the headers? And what exhaust, intakes, headers to you suggest? Should I go on Procivic.com for that stuff?
