im looking to get an eg with a h22 swap. first off the engine has red valve cover and engine code is h22a. theseller states it is out of an 96 prelude type s. ive searched and found the type s prelude doesn't come out til 97. and the engine code for a 96 prelude is h22 without the "a" after. im cofused what engine this is. is this the jdm type s h22a 220 hp or the jdm h22a 200 hp. any information would help greatly.

 

this is my 2 cents..

1992-1996 preludes came in three classes. S, Si, and SR-V

S= H22?? 135hp (doesnt have vtec)

Si= H23a1 at 160hp (doesnt have vtec)

SR-V= H22a1 190hp (with vtec)

I dont know the exact code for the s model, but i know it has 130hp... not that good. the car will be just like having a D16z6/y8 in it.
