What's the deal with auto tranny coolers?

hey it's me again I was just wondering if it's convinient for me to get a aouto transmission cooler ? I did some research and as far as I could tell it's only good if you tow big stuff but does it serve a good purpose on a Honda that I will just drive?

I'd say it's completely useless on an auto tranny for daily driving purposes. It's a trick to separate you from your money.

I am researching this as well, and I am reading a different set of opinions. What the world is telling me is that even on everyday driving and no towing, the tranny will shift harder with the cooler dropping the temp of the fluid, which is a good thing. Being that these trannys for my 2002 Civic is already known for problems, I personally am going to find me a good stacked plate cooler to add to mine soon.

Anyway, that's the skinny I've gotten from my Googling today...coolers are good for all driving types, especially in high temp regions. I live in DFW Texas and get into stop and go traffic. It gets darn hot on the interstate when jammed up. Martin
