We have a 1995 Honda Civic automatic. There is oil on the spark plugs. Why is this?
And how can we fix this problem?

Oil on the outside metal part of the plug where it screws in is because it ran down the tubes from the valve cover area, there are gaskets in there that can go bad. Oil on the tip part of the plug that's in the cylinder usually means the engine is badly worn. You would also see blue smoke from the tailpipe due to oil burning.

Thanks, Mk378. I'll inform my friend who is helping me work on the Civic.
