Default Why won't my headlights adjust?!

I finally got around to adjusting my fog lights so they are even and wanted to do the same with my headlights, but no dice. I turned them both directions for ages and didn't see the beams budge an inch up or down. I'm pretty sure I'm turning the right things:

I just put a phillips screwdriver in there and turned. The wheel moved and moved and moved, but I'm still stuck with this:

What's stranger is that my corner lights are off too. You can't see it in this pic, but when it's darker you can see the orange glow on whatever is in front of you. The driver's side one is really low and the passenger side one is really high, opposite of the headlights! (My driver's side headlight is higher and passenger side is lower.)

At least the fog lights were EASY to adjust right. Side question, though. Anyone know what kind of glue will adhere to that slick kind of plastic? This happened when someone backed into my car the other day:

I'm stuck looking all goofy with only one cover.

some plastic epoxy and sand ruff sandpaper on both pieces. no biggie.... you could also just use some double sided tape to hold that bezel to the bumper cover

as to the headlignts its a huge problem..... just keep cranking and make sure both of those dials are turning... i know some of mine wasnt adjusting right so i had to turn the other dial by hand!

keep cranken it the same way till it moves... i adjust mine at night and its easier to see them move on a wall with some kinda lines on it... if its smooth find a hot spot of th elight output and use some tape on the wall if you need to see it move better

I went out there in the dark and twisted the thing for 15 minutes total. I spent 5 turning it counterclockwise, then 10 turning it clockwise. The beam didn't move up or down. It's driving me crazy. These headlights are barely 2 years old and don't work.

Are they hitting the bumper, fender, etc? The front part of the headlight needs to be free of the body so it can tilt.

Not that I could see. The bumper on the passenger side actually doesn't fit well, so there's a nice gap under the light. If the light was capable of moving, it should have by now.

your wrong! the bolts are inside the housing the housing doesnt move.... it moves the gutts.

where both dials turning when you where moving the dial with the large philips screw driver?
if not then the one is just striping the other when you turn it.
if the dials not turning then the adjustment disc might be slipping. that little dial has to turn. the thru bolt is on that shaft that goes to the adjuster on the inside.

there is also two adjusters on them one goes up and down the other goes left to right. not just that one pictured! just so ya know.
the second one is under the other top mount if you put the screw driver in around 90degrees between the two top mounts.

this time pop a light behind the headlights while adjusting them.... i bet you werent actualy spinning the adjuster. it just left like it been there done that got the flash light and had to hold the screw driver with more pressure on the adjuster disc spurs.
it takes a pretty good size screw driver to turn those suckers! if you got a small one youll have to put some real pressure pushing it into the disc while turning. just keep an eye on it and make sure its turning next time.

and if its turning and doesnt look to be moving... tap on the headlight housing a few times to make it wiggle the gutts alittle.
i wish i took pictures of the gutts when i baked mine apart to show ya better. but all the adjustments work from the inside on long threaded shafts.

Yes, both dials were turning. The screwdriver is the biggest one that will fit in that thing.

I didn't see that one, but I don't think the beams were moving left or right either. I'll look and see if I can mess with the other one and get an effect.

ya youll have to be away about 10foot or so to really see the beam moving! its a fine threaded shaft i believe so takes alot of turning!
