Default Need help with a '97

I just bought a '97 EX coupe3 days agoand need some help/recommendations....

1) The guy who had it before me removed that catalytic converter, I've already gotten warned by local law enforcement about noise, so I was wondering rather to get a stock cat or find a high flow cat. Didn't know what the price comparison to hp gain/drop would be if any.

2) It is incredibly slow..my buddy's stock base model focus blows it away. So I'm thinking an ECU will be needed. I have an automatic right now, but was thinking about doing a trans. swap for manual (was recommended to get an Integra LS) so I need to get one that will help both the auto. and the manual. A turbo will also be purchased after the trans. swap so it needs to be compatible with that as well.

Sorry about the newb questions and I thank you all in advance for your time.

yeah you've got a lot of homework to do. Try using our search feature about trans swaps, "computers"/chips, etc..

This may not be the right spot, but goes along with my first post....

I've read that a lot of ebay cats are nothing more than just a hollow tube, so I was wondering if this would make any quieter or more legal: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-H...8153QQtcZphoto
