winshield wiper maddness!

Ok the stupid winshield wipers on my car are not working properly. You know how they are supposed to wipe together but the drivers side will only do it and the passenger side acts like it wants to but then it just stays there at the bottom. it was working this morning and all the sudden it stopped. My boyfriend said that it prolly came loose inside or something but idk. The bolt is turning but the wiper isnt going with it....

chances are the nuts that hold the wiper on, are too tight. Loosen the one up a little bit to see if that helps.

Or it might be too loose and not holding the wiper arm down fully, letting it slip on the motor spindle.

I dont remember correctly but i was pretty sure there was some sort of pattern (such as a square) that is used to hold it in place

I thought it was a grooved spindle that got wider at the bottom. I could be mistaken though.

no idea....

The real question is, why is a wiper question in "ECU tuning and Fuel management" anyway? haha

well the ones ive done just have groves all the way around and can be positioned where ever.... if your nut has been loose for awhile it could have slowly striped the teeth off the wiper mount and now it just doesnt have anything to bite to...

simply remove the nut on the wiper arm and pull the wiper arm off and inspect the gear there... if its all chewed up.... go to a junk yard and buy a replacement piece. but if it still looks usable then lower the hood and turn the wipers on and look at the gear to see if its turning or not... if its not turning theres a linkage inside thats either busted or loose that could be replaced....

Ok, I figured it out just forgot to post. The nuts that hold them on under the hood were super loose so I tightened them and good to go....lol I feel like a retard. I'm kind mad right now cuz I crashed my car yesterday. It was really foggy and I couldnt see the lines on the road so I paniced and hit a curb sideways and went into the ditch. I ripped my bumper off in a million pieces and both rims were bent in the front. GRRRRR!
