Default wiper problems

iight..i my car always has suttin wrong with it...now that its getting closer to winter i wanna fix the winshield wipers. its a 92 civic lx. iight the problem i have is beleive is 2. the lever inside my car goes down automatically. like if i jus touch it it goes down. theres no click when i want to spray the washer fluid and no click when i want to turn the wiper one for only one wipe(pushing the lever down so the wipers go). and the other problem i got is that the level one(when the turn the switch to the low speed) the wipers dont work. they only work on the medium and the fast speeds. and when u turn the wipers off they stop where ever i shut them off. so if the wipers are in the middle of the windshield and i shut them off, they will stay at the middle of the windshield.... i did like my wipers like this when i had a rejection sticker on my car, cuz i would stop the wipers right over the big R. haha got away with it for for like 3 months..

For sure your switch is messed up, replacing it will probably also fix the stopping in the middle problem.

so u think the motor has nothing to do with it. the only reason im askin is because i have a buddy who totaled his civic and i was going to ****** the wiper motor. so i dont have to buy another one. which i heard are expensive. is the only way to find out if its the switch is by replacing it. and would a ex switch work on a lx. same generation

Your switch doesn't even click properly, it's certainly bad. You should grab that motor too though just to have a spare. If the switch looks the same it will fit. I think the EX may have had variable intermittent wipers and the LX didn't though, so that's a different switch.

on my 6th gen and I presume it is the same since I took a junked '92 and used it on my '98. there is no problem with airbags and you need to remove the cover that surrounds the steering column and remove 4 screws and a connector and you are good to go. you don't even have to remove the steering wheel. aside from some cosmetic differences, all the functions work properly.

iight..so i got the cover off and took 2 small screws off of what looked like was holding in the switch. when i go try and pull out the swicth..no budge...it looks likes 2 bigger screws are holding them in...but i cant get to them because they are directly behind the steering wheel. im using that Z screw driver to get at them but still nothing...any opinions?
