wires, alarms, problems...
hey everyone. I'm new here (as my name indicates). I own a 2002 honda civic LX. I love the car. But I'm having tech issues with it.. When the car was purchased, the previous owner (only one owner had it before me) had installed an aftermarket stereo and a viper keyless entry with remote start system... now on my previous car, I had a very nice Alpine headunit. And since this one already had a JVC in it, it would be just a simple switch out to put mine in. the wiring harness was there, the dash kit was there, the whole 9 yards... well something went terribly wrong in the process... After i cut the wires of the JVC off and re cut them and spliced them to my Alpine, i connected the wiring plug into my Alpine and everything worked nicely. So with everything working and done, i turned the car off, and unplugged the Alpine one last time so that i could get cable ties and keep the wires in a nice and neat order (im really anal about that stuff). and when i went to plug the Alpine wires back into the unit, it never turned back on, and has yet to turn back on.. this was yesterday at like 4pm eastern time.. i went through and double checked my wire connections... nothing.. then i realized that my keyless entry no longer worked.. the remote start did however... I'm wondering if any of you car enthusiasts would know what the problem is.. I still have yet to find out what model my Viper system is... the car came with no papers at all except for the title and now the insurance.. i had to get the owners manual online hahaha. all i know is that the bypass kit for the keyless entry system is this... "expresskit XK05 with the firmware PKH3 2.0" I will be looking at the car later today to try to get the viper model type... but if anyone has any info on why this is happening, please feel free to shoot a response. any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. and i will be adding pictures up soon later today too. hahaha. not that it really matters but oh well.
thanks again guys and gals
