Lol you would say Star Trek Haha the back end doesn't even look like that anymore I blacked out the emblems, tinted the tails, and put some stickers on the bumper/rear window. I am about to fix the dent in the rear bumper and repaint the whole thing too...

I need to take newer pics

And the tails dont look bad but i dont like em wanting either oem or jdm replicas off eBay for like $80 haha i kno im a cheap @$$ haha

in theory changing the alternator should be easy, all you need is a socket wrench set and a pry bar to adjust belt tension.

Disconnect battery. disconnect all wires from alternator(1 green plug and one white wire), take the driver side wheel off in order to unfasten the black plastic splash shield on that side of the car(so you can just drop the alt out from bottom of car). unbolt the mounting bolt, unbolt the adjusting bolt, slide the belt lose, drop the alternator down, slide new alternator up, refasten bolts, adjust belt tension and reconnect battery.

but when I did it it was a nightmare because the bolts were really rusted on and I dont have an impact wrench. not to mention the replacement alternator was slightly diff than my old one so I had to tap it into place with a hammer in order to get bolts back in. Also, it weighs like 15 pounds and can get pretty heavy while holding it up from underneath the car trying to wiggle it all over to make it fit and get the bolts in. It took me 4 hours, but most people can do it in 1 or 2.

I bought my alternator on ebay from counselmanauto. It was $50 shipped with a lifetime replacement warranty. came out of a car with 80k on it.

Ah really? Dang how much did that cost u? Cause my alternator has a surge in it and it needs to be replaced but i wanna do it myself to save me money. Was it difficult to do? Seeing how i'd have to remove a sh!t ton of parts to pull it off and get the new one on...or would i not have to???

And i totally understand ur lowering situation...i had a 93 impreza in North Dakota before i moved down here and i couldn't do sh!t to that thing cause of the winters and the roads were always terrible. Was a beater anyway tho hahaha
