I was going thru your build thread, and I have to ask What did you use to clean that engine before it went to the engine builder? That thing looked incredible. Just asking as I have a 98 LX w/D16y7 that's getting rebuilt. It's also getting a y8 Intake manifold swap.I looked thru that thread of yours several times, but you didn't mention what you used. I know you mentioned it stank pretty good (the old oil in it). Also, did you ever do the 5 speed conversion to it? Thanks for any help you can offer

Hey, I know you must have answered this question before, but I cannot find it on this page. I have a 2000 civic 1.6L d16y7. I believe the heads are cracked because I found oil in the coolant return. A friend had a 2000 civic with a 1.6L so I bought the heads from him. Turns out to be a d16y8. Can I swap without hooking up the vtec stuff? I think the mini me is converting to vtec. Its a work car and I am not trying to hot rod it. Can you point me in the correct forum? Thanks. Marko
