That sucks man. I was just reading this morning how San Diego is a hot spot for car theft. May the dirty thief burn.

I will add however that the same article which I didn't get through reading mentioned that California overall has a 90% recovery rate. Best of luck.

thx - I read the article too. Out of the top 10 auto theft cities, 7 cities are in California (San Diego is #8). I think it is because there are a lot of cars in Cali making it a haven for any thieving @$$#ol*[>:]. And my car alarm didn't help at all. I want my next car alarm to be linked to my cell phone, give me a text message when it is goes off and have global satelite tracking.

Lo Jack is a car tracking device used by police and insurance companies, very handy. I'm really sorry to hear about your car man, really sucks. I hope ya find the POS that stole it.

yeah, you take it to an authorized dealership, and a rep from the company comes by, takes your car, places little receivers all over the car in random spots. i'm seriously considering it for my car, but i get the feeling it's probably pretty pricey.

My brother who is a cop says that Lo-Jack only works for the first few hours after the vehicle is stolen. Say if the car was stolen during the night, and you didn't find out until 6 or 7 hours later, the battery on the Lo-Jack would die out and the cops couldn't get a signal.
