2000 civic lx gauge

Hello:

I'm new here, so please forgive if this is too long.
I have 2000 Civic LX, totally stock. The gas gauge is fluctating more in the up position the down. I replaced the fuel sending unit with a new one about 3 weeks ago, it helped but only for a while. When i accelerate the gauge goes all the way up to full. When i press brakes if goes down, but not all the way. the only time itr shows accuratly is when the car is cold and just been started. For the most part it goes back to full

I think i pinpointed this to my gauge itself. I have a chance to buy a new cluster froma wrecked 2000 EX, for about $35. Should i do it, or is this a waste of money. ?

Any suggestions?

Not sure if a cluster will help or not. That's funny, cause every time I push on my gas pedal, the gauge goes down, and when I brake it'll go up. Especially around 1/2 tank. It is a normal thing to see IMO.

Welcome to HCF by the way!

Thats' what i was leaning towards as well. Like i said ealier. Some people say it's a normal occurance on the civic.
