I just bought a 97 Hx civic about 4 months ago. Recently its been making a wierd noise almost sounds like a heat shield but i cant find it. The noise stops wen i push the clutch in..... There a reason its doing that only wen im not pushing in the clutch. could the clutch be bad or wat but it just started doing it and i dont know wat it is. The noise is like a rattle and is some what loud. Can anyone help me or tell me wat they think.

 

well..im guessing the heatshield is loose and its raddling against the header, ALOT of people sead this happend to them too, make sure the heashield is bolted down tight...try and move it to see if it makes the same noise (make sure its not hot lol) or get someone to push the peddle a little wile you see to make sure thats what it is

 

mine does the same thing but it does it when im at a slow speed but when i speed up it stops
