AC compressor cycling on off- 2012 Civic LX

Default AC compressor cycling on off- 2012 Civic LX
Hello everyone! Hope everyone having a good day! Working on my son's 2012 Civic today. I noticed the AC compressor kicks in and out even 45 degrees today and the AC is off. Wondering what causes the AC to act this way. Thanks, Glen
