Another noob

Okay, so I guess I should have posted here first before jumping right in. Name's Becky, we own two Hondas (1998 Civic LX and 1998 Passport [I know, it's an Isuzu, so zue me]). Obviously, the Civic is the reason I am here. We bought the car in 2004 with 80,000 miles on it. Have done all the routine maintenance, and have had no problems until just recently. See my post under Mechanical Problems for details. Have gotten excellent opinions and help so far. I have also been lucky to find a mechanic living two houses down from me who helped me for free. It amazes me how many people will jump to "head gasket" when it COULD be a simpler problem, but also my fault for not giving enough details (like husband doesn't know squat about what parts to buy, never sending him to the auto parts store again). I've been doing my own maintenance and small repairs since 1994 (so yes, I am old) and absolutely adore my Civic. Happiest when I have my head under the hood, tunes in the background, beer close at hand. Happy to be here, thanks, keep it up!!!!
