Brake trouble?

Hi friends,
I own a 2005 Civic LX with 14K miles. When I am on the highway at high speeds, 60-70, and I brake to slow down, the steering wheel shake. I had my tires rotated and rebalanced and that didn't help. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks.

Dave

its probably your rotors are wearing down or warped but it wouldent make sence with such low miles..unless your brakes were hot and you slammed on them or somthing..does it happen all the time when you brake or just highway?

Thank you for the quick response. You are right, it is way too soon for any kind of problem like that. I am very easy on my brakes and it is most noticable when I brake at high speeds. I should have taken it back to the dealer where I bought it, but I was lazy because the dealer is very far away.

yes most likely your rotors.. i just bought new power slot vented rotors for my old hatch prior to crash as i had warped mine from slowing down too fast from over excessive speeds..

Do you think that would be warrantied, because the car has such low mileage and not even a year old yet?

It might just be ABS doing it's job.

my hatch didnt have abs... most people can tell if its abs as its retarding the brake peddle.. so you feel the kickback repeatedly on the peddle

yea definitely check the rotors and make sure they aren't warped or anything.
